01 JUN 2008 12 Sycamores, 3 Peaches, 2 Apples, but no Partridges in a Pear Tree |
Apple Forest: And then there were two. The tallest apple tree
succumbed to the onslaught of wee beasties and the slashing it took at
one point. It was a valiant fight, but just not to be (its trunk can
be seen in the background). Two of the other proto-apple trees seemed
to be posers, so were removed. The mighty Apple Forest lives on, as
two hearty trees remain. No more wee beasties have been seen. They
are afraid, very afraid ...

Cherry Forest: all hope is lost. The dirt, full of unsprouted cherry
pits, is recycled to another pasture.
|
Peach Forest: The triumvirate of Peachys pushes ever skyward.
Forestry Special Agent Val has suggested a possible clever scenario
for our three Peachys --- perhaps they should be braided into one?
Hmmmm ...
Sycamore Forest #1: Five giants are all doing well, including Sycadee
and Sycadum. The piney interloper was summarily logged out of the
Sycamore Forest. The central member of this quintet is doing truly
strange things with its leaf arrangement.
Sycamore Forest #2: All seven of the giants from two weeks ago have
made it through, with the Three Sycateers continuing to hold sway over
the land.
