Meeting Minutes

4:24pm - VP Bryan arrives wearing a suit, looking very smooth and a little like an assassin, but without the cool sunglasses.

4:25pm - Pizza arrives.

4:30pm - We discuss the upcoming intramural volleyball games.

4:31pm - Prez. Erika calls the meeting to order.

4:32pm - Dues are to be lowered next semester to $5! This is due to a budget surpluss. Glorious budget surpluss.

4:33pm - Monthly events are discussed. (See main page for dates and times.)

4:35pm - We plan on having an daytime observing session on Tuesday, Nov. 9th (if it's clear) for the occultation of Jupiter by the Moon, even if we have Solar Observing the day before.

4:37pm - A discussion on the merits of different webcams ensues.

4:40pm - The Messier 10k is going to replace Nighttime Observing for the month. Our next Nighttime Observing session will be next January in the GSU Village.

4:42pm - The status of the telescope is discussed. Member Kevin plans to take the pieces home over Winter Break to square the edges, cut things, and be generally industrious. There will be telescope painting and work this Friday.

4:45pm - The Astronomy Movie for November is going to be on Dec. 3rd due to Thanksgiving Break. The movie will be Blade Runner. Glorious Harrison Ford.

4:46pm - There will be no Club meeting in December. The next Club meeting is January 13th.

4:48pm - Prez. Erika decrees the Messier 10k "should be a lot of fun". For details on dates and RSVP info, see main page.

4:54pm - Since we'll be out at HLCO for the Messier 10k a few days before the peak of the Leonid meteor shower, we'll not return to watch the shower. The peak is going to be lame (only 15-20 meteors/hour) so we're not even going to try observing them on campus. This can be a solitary event for Club members.

4:57pm - The remaining pizza congeals quietly.

5:00pm - Rhapsodizing about the trip to PARI last January begins. Glorious PARI.

5:02pm - Silence descends as Prez. Erika asks for any other suggestions.

5:05pm - Meeting is adjourned.
