We discussed possible future events:
- We're trying to get Phil Plait, the Bad Astronomy guy, to give a talk at GSU when he's already in town in early November. More info to follow as we work on this.
- We'd like to go back to the Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute (PARI) to volunteer for a day, since the last trip was really cool.
- Any ideas from members are welcome!
Hard Labor Creek Observatory Events:
- Messier 10K in November - a nice preparation for the Messier Marathon in March. We'll have a BBQ beforehand and then spend as much of the night you want to spend looking at galaxies, star clusters, etc.
- After the "Storm of the Century" last year with the Leonids Meteor Shower, this time around may seem calm, but it's still worth going out to HLCO to see the Leonids. That would also be in November.
More info to come on the HLCO activities!
Members in attendance: President Erika, Treasurer Angela, Secretary Ellyn, Alan, David, Raj, Paramita, Huang, the Ghost of Kevin
